Carter desperately wants us to be Duck fans. He made this star at school, and was SO excited for us to open it Christmas morning. As soon as we did, he shouted out, "it's green and yellow to make you guys be Duck fans!" Apparently one of his friends at school is a major fan - he came home one day saying "ducks fly, beavers die." Nice.
The star didn't do the trick. We're die-hard Duke fans around here thank you very much! We have been watching as much Duke basketball as possible. Last Saturday a game was on, and Carter was totally into it. Some quotes from game time:
I wish everything in our house was Duke blue
Duke dip (what we call seven-layer dip), Duke hats, Duke fans baby!
As it gets closer to the Duke game, it gets better and better
Unfortunately, they lost. And here's the disappointment to prove it.

That is such a great picture of him. I can see more resemlance between him and Addie when his cheek is smooshed like that.
(And thank goodness we don't have to disown you for becoming duck fans.)

There is SERIOUS banter between the kinder teachers and kinder aids about Ducks vs. Beavers. So of course the kids love it, too.
