one last hurrah

Before moving to Wyoming, Addie had her final birthday party with her little friends in Hillsboro. These girls have been such good friends over the last 2 years, and we were really sad to say goodbye to everyone. But the party was a blast! It was a Fancy Nancy party, Addie is in love with these books. Addie greeted each guest at the door with, "Ooh la la, Jane's here!" or "Elizabeth's here," etc. After some coloring, we had Miss I, an older sister who helped me out that day, read a Fancy Nancy book.

We then went on a scavenger hunt for accessories! Here they are making sparkly necklaces.

After the girls were all dressed up, we had fancy lessons as well! Miss I taught the girls a few french words: "oui," "merci," and "bonjour." And then she showed them how to curtsy. This was hilarious watching them all try it.

There was a dance party.

Then a sampling of sandwiches with fancy toothpicks, and parfaits, just like in the book. Addie's candles? Not so fancy in the ice cream carton.

We took a picture with each friend before they left.

Kate really didn't want to pose...

she was cracking me up, but we got her after all!
