the beach

Last week the projected forecast at the beach was in the 80s...in Oregon! Since that doesn't happen very often, we were invited by some friends for a day trip to the coast. And it gave me a good excuse to get out of our hot house. We went to a new-to-us park, Oswald West, just south of Cannon Beach (thanks for the suggestion Rachel!). I loved it there, and will definitely be going back sometime. There's a little trail that heads down to the cove, a stream that leads into the ocean, and ankle deep water quite a ways out. I could actually let the kids play in the ocean without having to hold hands the entire time, which was so nice.

Cool bridge and tree on the trail
The stream

The little girls apparently thought the stream bed needed more rocks, so they would find some and throw em in.
All the kids, minus Addie who was in a bad mood by this point.
This is Addie asleep. She sleeps with her eyes open quite often, especially when in the car.

Glad you had fun. Sorry I wasn't able to join you. We'll have to try again later. Don't know if you ventured to the north end of the cove, but there's a small cave with plenty of starfish and such to enjoy.
